The first caravan of pilgrims (Umrah) from the country to the Holy Shrines, consisting of 82 pilgrims, flew today from Kabul International Airport to Saudi Arabia. On this occasion, a meeting was held today by the Ministry of MOHIA at the Hajj Zone Center, attended by the Deputy Minister of MOHIA, officials from the Islamic Emirate, heads of central departments of this ministry, a number of pilgrims, representatives of Umrah travel companies, and officials from Ariana Afghan Airlines and Kam Air. The meeting began with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran, after which Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi, the General Director of Hajj, Umrah, and Pilgrimage at the Ministry of MOHIA, delivered the opening speech. In his speech, he provided detailed explanations about the stages of performing Umrah and advised participants to maintain order, unity, and Islamic ethics during this blessed journey. He mentioned that last year, 70,233 pilgrims from the country performed Umrah, which was unprecedented compared to previous years. He added that this year, the Ministry of MOHIA is determined to facilitate Umrah for a larger number of pilgrims in collaboration with the relevant companies.
Mr. Mohammadi explained the stages, conditions, and principles established by the Umrah administration for the companies and emphasized that all companies are obligated to implement these measures. Then Sheikh AzizuRahman Mansoor, the Deputy Coordinator for Religious Affairs and Sacred Places at the Ministry of MOHIA, delivered a speech. He provided comprehensive information about the virtues and importance of performing Umrah and emphasized that pilgrims should make the most of this spiritual journey and perform all their worship acts with sincerity and purity. Mr. Mansoor urged pilgrims to pay attention to existing procedures and regulations and to represent their country with goodwill and honor while protecting themselves from any misconduct and disorder. He added that all Umrah and pilgrimage tourism companies are required to hire experienced and religious teachers to guide them in performing rituals at the Holy Shrines and to provide them with the best services. He emphasized that serving pilgrims is a significant religious and national duty, and companies should fulfill this responsibility as part of their faith.
At the end of the meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Wasi Akhundzada, the Director of MOHIA of Kabul Province, also spoke. In his remarks, he congratulated the pilgrims on undertaking this great act of worship and advised them to maintain complete sincerity, humility, and Islamic ethics throughout their Umrah. He concluded his speech with prayers for all pilgrims.
The meeting ended with a prayer, and after the prayer, all pilgrims headed towards Kabul International Airport.
