Following the specific guidance of the esteemed leader of the Islamic Emirate, Amir al-Mu'minin (may Allah protect him), the Ministry of MOHIA has organized a comprehensive plan for the collection of old Qurans, religious books, and other sacred pages and documents in the center and provinces of the country. This plan has been prepared under the supervision of Sheikh al-Hadith  Dr. Noor Mohammad Saqib, the Minister of MOHIA taking into account all dimensions and urgent needs of this process, ensuring the long-term preservation of these sacred documents for decades to come.
In mountainous areas, specific locations for storing these old religious documents will be constructed by professional and skilled engineers. The registration process of these locations as Awqaf properties is also underway in coordination with relevant institutions.
In some provinces, practical work on constructing these facilities has begun. The Minister of MOHIA observed and reviewed the construction process during a visit to Kandahar and Helmand provinces, which will soon be put into operation.
Furthermore, the Ministry of MOHIA intends to launch public awareness programs through speakers, mosque imams, and media outlets to enlighten people about the importance of preserving and maintaining Qurans and religious books. This aims to prevent any disrespect or sin arising from negligence and indifference.
Old Qurans and religious books with worn-out pages that are difficult to read will be collected by the provincial departments of MOHIA from designated boxes placed in mosques. They will then be transferred to dedicated locations, where appointed custodians will be responsible for the ongoing supervision of these places to prevent any disrespect towards these sacred documents.
The Ministry of MOHIA is undertaking this initiative to honor religious sanctities and values. By implementing this plan, a unified, organized, and nationwide process for the preservation of Qurans, religious books, and sacred documents will be established for the first time in the country.
