A cornerstone of a Mosque, valued at 3,176,000 Afghanis, was laid by the Ministry of MOHIA in Nimroz Province.
On the 5th of Rajab al-Murajab 1446 / January 17, 2024
based on the directive of Amir al-Mu'minin, may Allah preserve him, the cornerstone of a prayer Mosque in the area of Pul Abrisham (Commissioner) in the city of Zaranj, Nimroz Province, was laid by Sheikh Mohammad Qasim "Khalid," the governor of Nimroz, in the presence of Mawlawi Shamsullah "Ahmadi," the head of Guidance, Hajj, and Awqaf, Engineer Hamid "Ibrahim," the head of the governor's office, local and military officials, and esteemed scholars of this province. The event began with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran. Then, respected Sheikh Mohammad Qasim "Khalid," the governor of Nimroz, expressed gratitude for this noble action by the respected Ministry of Guidance, Hajj, and Awqaf and described the laying of the cornerstone of this mosque as a fundamental foundation in the Islamic community. He urged those involved to use quality materials in accordance with standard specifications as outlined in the contract for the construction of this noble mosque. He continued by saying that those who build mosques are truly following and reviving the path of the Prophet (peace be upon him), as a mosque is a religious building for worship, supplication, and a gathering place for Muslims. As it is known, when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) arrived in Medina, his first action was to build the Quba Mosque, which is considered the first historical mosque in Islam. Following this, respected Mawlawi Shamsullah "Ahmadi," the head of MOHIA in Nimroz Province, provided detailed information about the aforementioned project and added that this mosque will be constructed solidly on an area of 200 square meters at a cost of 3,176,000 Afghanis from the budget of the respected Ministry of MOHIA to provide more convenience for the migrants in this city, with a capacity to accommodate 250 worshippers at one time
