"The Minister of MOHIA visited the Waqf properties of Afghanistan in the holy cities of Mecca and Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
On 8th Muharram al-Haram, 1445 Hijri corresponding to 4th Asad, 1402 Hijri The Minister of MOHIA of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Honorable General Head of the Hajj mission, Sheikhul-Hadith Dr. Mawlawi Noor Mohammad Saqib, visited the Waqf properties of Afghanistan in the holy cities of Mecca and Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These properties had been acquired by the rulers and dignitaries of the Afghan government in different eras and had been dedicated for the Afghan pilgrims. Respected Saqib also met with the officials of the Afghan embassy for the return and the development of these properties. One of the properties was a land purchased by Ahmad Shah Baba in 1136 Hijri near the Holy Kaaba in the Suleimaniyah area. After its naming as "Rabat-e-Ahmadshahi", it was dedicated to Afghan pilgrims. Over time, this land was included in the development plans of the Holy Shrine. Additionally, another piece of land, where two five-floors buildings were constructed, was purchased by King Mohammad Nader Shah in 1350 Hijri in the Shabika area, 400 meters from the Holy Kaaba, and named as "Rabat-e-Nadershahi". These lands had been included in the development plans of the Holy Shrine before resolving any legal or ownership issues, and in return, no land has been allocated to the Afghan government. During the visit of the Minister of MOHIA, Dr. Shafigh Samim, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Dr. Sher Mohammad Ibrahim, the Consul of Afghanistan in Jeddah, were also present. They visited approximately four jars of land that had been allocated to the Afghan government during the reign of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz. Respected Saqib had serious discussions with the embassy officials regarding the reconstruction and effective utilization of this land, and the embassy officials assured the Minister of MOHIA about the start of work on these above-mentioned properties. During this meeting, Mr. Saqib discussed the legal resolution of the mentioned Rabats with relevant officials, and the embassy officials promised to investigate and pursue the matter closely with the authorities in Saudi Arabia according to the laws.
