A joint meeting among officials from various ministries was held under the supervision of the Minister of MOHIA.
On the 17th of Muharram al-Haram 1447 AH, corresponding to the 22nd of Saratan 1404 SH,
based on a special decree from the esteemed leader of the Islamic Emirate, Amir al-Mu'minin, may Allah protect him, the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, and Information and Culture have been instructed to work under the supervision of the Ministry of MOHIA. They are to visit libraries, educational centers, and public places to review various books that were previously authored to mislead and distort the public mindset, check and control them, and prepare a comprehensive guide for scholars and school teachers so that they can educate the people in light of Sharia principles regarding these works.
On this occasion, today, Sunday, a joint meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of MOHIA, with the presence of deputies and officials from the Ministries of Higher Education, Education, and Information and Culture.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikh al-Hadith Dr. Noor Muhammad Saqib, Minister of MOHIA, welcomed the present officials and said: "In previous years, our country faced not only military aggression but also serious cultural damage. Many countries opened offices in Afghanistan for cultural activities to undermine our Islamic culture and authentic Afghan values. We must all strive to keep our Islamic culture alive and fully introduce it to our Mujahid nation."
He added: "In the past, works were authored that contradict the Islamic and historical values of our society and divert the youth from their main goals. Now is the time for all Emirate departments, scholars of the country, and intellectual elites to work together to fill this gap and provide healthy and Islamic content for the younger generation in accordance with our values."
The Minister of MOHIA also stated that this action is being carried out based on a special directive from Amir al-Mu'minin, may Allah protect him. The books collected or being collected by the ministries will be evaluated by a joint team of esteemed scholars.
He added: "Representatives from four ministries will form a joint committee to prepare a comprehensive guide that considers the essential needs of society and facilitates the availability of healthy and revised books in the country."
During the continuation of the meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Khaliq Sadiq, Deputy Minister of Education; Mawlawi Hayatullah Mohajir Farahi, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture; and Mufti Abdul Rauf Farahi, head of the curriculum committee at the Ministry of Higher Education also spoke, presenting reports on their respective ministries' actions and emphasizing complete cooperation in the future
